At times, MPS may also collect personal information from certain providers for the purpose of processing and enforcing parking violations. MPS Collects this information only when we have the authority to do so from the relevant provider, and we only collect the minimum information necessary to process and enforce parking violations in the subject municipality. All such personal information is only accessible by A) the employees who need to use the personal information for the purpose of processing and enforcing parking violations, B) known officers of the law in the subject municipality, and C) Any system or "violation processing service" (such as mailing providers) required by the municipality to process and enforce parking violations. Retention and Disposal
The MPS systems are configured such that each Municipality controls the data retention and disposal policies of their municipality. Municipalities control the number of days that "associated" and "unassociated" information is retained. Unassociated information is information that related to a parking session but that parking session did not result in a violation. Associated information is information that related to a parking session which resulted in one or more violations.
Once the Municipality threshold for data retention has been reached, the MPS systems automatically delete (purge) the information and Personal Information that has been retained.
